This site is a tribute to John Michael Edwards (known as Michael), who was born in Ellesmere, Shropshire on July 31, 1935. He is much loved and will always be remembered by his children Jonathan, Elizabeth and David, his grandchildren William and Ruby, his son in law Des and his daughter in law Katherine.

Michael was a graduate of the University of Birmingham, a proud and accomplished civil engineer, beloved husband to Miriam for almost 60 years and a wonderful father to his children and grandfather to his grandchildren. 

He was a true Shropshire lad with a razor sharp intellect and wit, a keen interest in history, people and places, and a generous and compassionate soul.

Michael suffered significant hearing loss for a large part of his life so it seems a fitting tribute to invite donations to help those who also live with hearing loss.  We hope that with your kind donations, the RNID can reach more people with support and advice.
